Job summary

Monarch Quantum seeks a Senior Laser Scientist to build and scale new laser platforms from concept to early production. You will lead designs across external cavity, fiber, and semiconductor lasers, defining requirements and guiding experiments for linewidth, stability, and tuning.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field (exceptional MS candidates considered).
• Deep expertise in two or more laser architectures and their physics.
• Experience taking laser concepts from lab to robust prototype.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop new laser platforms from concept through prototype and early productization.
• Lead laser design across external cavity, fiber, and semiconductor architectures.
• Define optical, electrical, thermal, and mechanical requirements for new laser systems.
• Perform optical design, cavity design, mode control, linewidth/noise optimization, and wavelength tuning.
