Job summary

Wolverine Lawn Services in Kalamazoo, MI seeks an experienced Landscape Designer & Construction Manager to lead design, estimating, and execution of residential and commercial landscapes. The role combines creative design with hands-on project management, client meetings, and sales proposals.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in landscape design (or related field) and 3+ years of experience, with proficiency in CAD/SketchUp and knowledge of Zone 4–5 plant materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 3+ years in landscape design and construction.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Proven ability in client-facing sales and proposal development.
• Strong knowledge of Zone 4–5 plant materials and hardscaping techniques.
• Proficient with computer-based design tools (CAD/SketchUp).

Responsibilities

• Design & Sales: Develop custom landscape designs using CAD/SketchUp and meet with clients to present concepts.
• Estimate project costs and prepare sales proposals.
• Project Management: Oversee planning and execution of landscape construction projects.
• Create material lists and ensure timely ordering and delivery of plant materials and supplies.
• Review and interpret landscape plans to ensure quality execution.
• Crew & Equipment Oversight: Schedule construction and maintenance tasks for your team.
• Ensure equipment is in good condition and coordinate repairs.
• Promote adherence to safety protocols during all activities.
