Job description
Overview

Rock Design Associates is actively seeking applicants with 7 to 10 years of professional experience in the field of landscape architecture to fill two project management roles. The ideal candidates will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking ability, and robust project management experience. Candidates should also demonstrate outstanding design ability and graphic skills with a strong organizational capacity and the ability to work independently and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment. The position will be remote.

Job Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the planning, design, and management of high-profile projects in a remote team environment.
  • Provide direction, oversight, and guidance to junior staff members in the completion of project related tasks.
  • Direct coordination with Senior Associates and Staffing Manager in the support and development of design staff.
  • Management and coordination of subconsultant responsibilities on select projects.
  • Manage work and the inputs from a variety of stakeholders and collaborators.
  • Occasional travel with the team to project sites countrywide.
Skills Required
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in landscape architecture, architecture, or planning practices.
  • High level of technical proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat), and Microsoft Office is required.
  • Experience in Civil 3D, MicroStation, Rhino, SketchUp, and other 3D modeling software are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a completed project – planning and conceptual design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to offer clear graphic communications through mapping, storyboarding, reports, outreach, and diagrammatic information.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven history in leading complex, large scale multi-collaborator, institutional projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with clients, direct complex teams, and coordinate internal team members and external consultants / collaborators.
  • Ability to direct and oversee junior staff work in a remote environment.
  • Fluency in English is required.
Additional Desirable Qualifications (Technical Leader Role)
  • Highly proficient in leading teams through construction documentation and the computer-based technical aspects of landscape architecture.
  • Experience with complex grading and knowledge of specification writing is a plus.
Additional Desirable Qualifications (Project Development Role)
  • Experience with job development and early design phase skills.
  • Experience with project pursuits, including proposal writing and research.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s and / or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Landscape Architecture.
