Job summary

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) seeks a Landscape Architect/Landscape Restoration Specialist to advance ecological design in the Pacific Northwest. The role focuses on habitat restoration, mitigation site design, and construction-phase services, with emphasis on urban and waterfront settings.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in landscape architecture and restoration, and will work in a hybrid Seattle/Portland arrangement.

Qualifications

10+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture, ecological restoration, natural resources design, or related environmental design fields with significant habitat restoration and mitigation experience.
Experience producing construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for restoration and natural resource–based projects.
Experience designing temporary and permanent irrigation for restoration and mitigation planting sites.
Construction observation/administration experience including field oversight, submittal review, contractor coordination, and QC.
Ability to lead or support project management tasks including schedule coordination, scope development, deliverable tracking, and client communication.
Experience collaborating with biologists, engineers, hydrologists, and permitting specialists on restoration projects.

Responsibilities

Lead and support restoration and mitigation projects with design concepts and detailed habitat plans.
Produce construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
Provide construction-phase support through field observation, RFIs, punch lists, and contractor coordination.
Lead or support project management tasks including budgets, schedules, and team coordination.
Support business development through proposal development and client outreach.
