Job summary

ARM Group LLC in Ashland, VA is seeking a Senior Landfill/Solid Waste Engineer with strong business acumen and ownership mentality. You will lead multi‑disciplinary teams to service our solid waste clients’ needs, and manage projects from design through permitting.

Responsibilities include client development, proposal preparation, schedules and budgets, technical reporting, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
• P.E. registration required.
• 8+ years of experience in Solid Waste engineering including design, permitting, operations support, and construction oversight.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the development, design and permitting of multiple projects simultaneously.
• Prepare designs and permit applications to acquire approvals from regulatory bodies.
• Maintain complicated schedules, develop project timelines, coordinate with subcontractors, and manage people and materials to complete jobs on schedule and within budget guidelines.
• Act as the direct point of contact in communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Assess and mitigate project risks in advance of detailed engineering efforts.
• Prepare detailed models and technical documents to present project design/feasibility findings to stakeholders.
• Assist the ARM business development team, including the preparation of detailed technical proposals.
• Perform and/or check technical calculations and prepare project specifications.
• Prepare reports, client communications, deliverables, etc. and consult with other internal partners as needed.
• Pro-actively recognize conditions and problems of non-routine nature and develop effective solutions.
• Mentor and grow junior staff.
