Job summary

City of Bellevue invites applications for a Senior Planner to advance shoreline amendments and related land-use code updates. You will collaborate with policy planning staff and external stakeholders to drive city priorities and ensure regulatory alignment with the Comprehensive Plan.

The role requires strong analytical abilities, cross-departmental coordination, and experience in public policy development and legislative processes. This is a full-time, on-site position in Bellevue.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.
• Five or more years of professional planning/land-use experience in development and codification of regulations and policy.
• Equivalent combination of education, experience, and training may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex technical analysis for planning purposes including shoreline amendments and related processes.
• Maintain familiarity with federal, state, regional planning policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and manage planning initiatives and amendments to the Land Use Code and other development regulations.
• Gather, interpret, and prepare studies, analyses, and recommendations for planning initiatives.
• Coordinate and lead interdepartmental teams to achieve intended work program outcomes.
• Represent the City on committees, neighborhood meetings, and public hearings.
