Job summary

Impact Recruitment is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor for our Fort Wayne, IN office to deliver detailed maps and boundary reports for government and private clients. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in survey construction layout, a Bachelor’s in surveying or civil engineering, and holds a Professional Land Surveyor license in Indiana or eligible.

Responsibilities include field data collection, CAD drafting, historical map research, boundary determination, and producing robust reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in surveying or civil engineering is required.
• Professional Land Surveying license in Indiana preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and understanding of mapping concepts.
• Self-motivated with good time management and ability to work outdoors and walk as needed.
• Experience with computer drafting programs is expected.
• Experience with boundary surveys and writing legal descriptions for commercial and residential locations.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record precise distances and angles on land, including boundary points and topographical features.
• Use surveying equipment, CAD programs, and databases to collect data according to project requirements.
• Research historical maps and land records to verify measurements and boundary lines.
• Create reports and maps from field data showing boundary markers and topo features.
• Prepare 2D maps and 3D renderings of property features and boundaries.
• Establish official land and water boundaries following legal procedures for various clients.
