Senior Land Surveyor (Project Management)

GPI is seeking a Senior Land Surveyor in our Milford, DE office to work on projects throughout Delaware. We offer opportunities for advancement and are looking for a qualified candidate to help build the Survey department within GPI's Delaware Design Operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform field data collection and office data processing, including data management.
2. Conduct quality control and assurance.
3. Work with aerial, mobile, and static LiDAR datasets, with cross-training into other mapping disciplines.
4. Utilize UAS aerial drones, robotic total stations, terrestrial LiDAR scanners, digital levels, photography, and other data collection tools and software.
5. Read and interpret drawings, topographic maps, and real property descriptions.
6. Support projects that may include the use of hand tools such as a bush axe, machete, or sledgehammer.
7. Occasionally travel out of town for up to two weeks.
8. Maintain supplies and equipment.
9. Manage project tasks and follow through on project management responsibilities.
10. Coordinate scheduling across GPI departments.
11. Assist in proposal preparation and development.

Qualifications:

1. Licensed Delaware Surveyor or ability to obtain a license within 9 months.
2. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
3. Experience in project management and scheduling.
4. Proposal preparation experience.
5. Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
6. Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry.
7. Experience in field surveying practices and procedures.
8. Experience in drafting and reproduction methods.
9. Knowledge of land recording and conveyance procedures.
10. Background check and drug testing required for projects on Federal facilities.
