Job description

Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Land Surveyor position who hold multiple PLS licenses in one or more of the following states: Texas, Wyoming, Kansas, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and North Dakota. This role will focus on leading projects and field crews for multiple disciplines. The Senior Land Surveyor is a self‑starting technical leader with expertise in the transportation and municipal markets, leadership, communication, and resource management. What You’ll Do
Project Technical Lead - 70%
  • Manages and leads survey activities during the proposal, design, and construction stages of assigned projects.
  • Provides project oversight, including managing the survey scope according to technical contracts, assisting in developing change orders, and maintaining project schedules.
  • Maintains high levels of quality and responsiveness to meet internal and external client requirements in alignment with company expectations.
  • Oversees survey activities of team members on assigned projects.
  • Responsible for reviewing project documents, drawings, calculations & specifications, assumes responsible charge.
Team Mentorship and Development Responsibilities - 20%
  • Provides input on strategic direction and technical services oversight for employees in achieving individual, team, department, and organizational performance goals.
  • Coaches, trains, and develops survey staff for growth and development opportunities.
Business Development Responsibilities - 10%
  • Participates and partners with members of the CFS and PTS Business Units and sales teams throughout the organization to promote revenue growth and expansion of services with existing and prospective clients.
  • Supports proposal efforts by developing, providing resources, and reviewing proposals by working with the Proposal Development Team, Project Management group, and other departments.
  • Maintains positive client relationships with existing clients.
What We Expect from You
  • A PLS license in one or more of the following states-Texas (RPLS), Wyoming, Kansas, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, or North Dakota is required.
  • Must be analytical, self‑motivated, and possess the ability to work in high‑pressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, public, and external agencies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations and timeliness
  • Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication skills
  • Displays a high level of initiative and explores new opportunities while understanding the risk to the organization
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and additional software knowledge depending on specialty
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the US
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • A Willingness to travel 50% of the time
  • Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Additional Opportunity Details

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $111,200 - $150,400.
