Job summary

Raymond is seeking an experienced Land Surveying Department Manager to lead and expand our Surveying & Geospatial Services. You will guide project scope, budgets, and field operations, serving as the senior technical authority for surveying across the firm.

You will manage DoD facilities deployments, oversee high‑precision deliverables, and mentor staff while expanding client relationships and firm standards nationwide.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in good standing with ability to obtain additional state licenses.
• Active FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• 10-15+ years of progressive land surveying experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Experience supporting federal/DoD, USACE, NAVFAC, or municipal infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
• Willingness to travel nationally approx. 25-40% to military installations and client sites.

Responsibilities

• Define departmental goals, build capacity, recruit talent, and scale the survey team.
• Manage workload, field crew scheduling, equipment logistics, and software licenses.
• Develop project scopes, fee estimates, and proposals while supervising budgets and profitability.
• Supervise and mentor party chiefs, survey technicians, instrument operators, and CAD staff.
• Lead field surveys at military bases and project sites across the United States.
