Job summary

Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) seeks a Labour Relations Counsel for Calgary (airport office) or Toronto (Etobicoke). You will advise pilot governing bodies and individual members on employment matters, support negotiation teams, monitor contracts, and oversee dispute resolution under the collective agreement.

Required are a law degree and bar in good standing, with 5 years of labour law experience; 15+ years preferred. Travel is typically 15–35%, up to 75% at times.

Qualifications

• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Law degree (LLB/LLM) or equivalent.
• Bar membership in good standing.
• 5 years in labour law and litigation; 15+ preferred.
• French language skills preferred.
• Experience with collective bargaining, grievances, arbitration.
• Strong English/French communication.
• Experience with TC/CARs preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist pilot governing bodies and members on employment matters.
• Support negotiations and coordinate contract administration.
• Handle dispute resolution under the collective agreement.
• Prepare summaries of hearings and manage case files.
• Provide staff guidance to paralegals and administrative staff as needed.
