The General Services Department supports the City with innovative, highly qualified, service-oriented staff. Hiring Salary Range: $43,348.00 - $52,017.00
Work Hours/Days: Monday - Friday / 6:30 am to 3:00 pm (may include some weekend work on a rotation schedule)
The role involves maintaining and enhancing lawns, beds, and landscaped areas in City-owned Cemeteries, preparing grave sites for burials, and performing semi-skilled and skilled labor. Responsibilities include operating light-duty equipment and power tools, applying seed, fertilizer, water, and herbicides, installing plants, and other landscape maintenance tasks. During winter, duties expand to snow and ice removal, tree planting, mulching, turf improvement, pruning, and litter collection. Weekend work is rotated among staff.
Minimum Requirements:

Preferred qualifications include outdoor work experience, a North Carolina Commercial Driver’s License (B or A), a North Carolina Pesticide Applicator’s License, education in landscaping or horticulture, knowledge of plant maintenance, and experience with commercial landscaping and lawn equipment operation.
