Qualifications

• Valid license as a clinical laboratory technologist, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist issued by the NYSED.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine clinical laboratory tests and procedures for diagnosis and treatment on specimens submitted to the laboratory.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment, and performs quality control procedures.
• Participates in internal and external programs of quality control and proficiency testing, as required by regulatory agencies.
• Maintains laboratory records and prepares reports.
• Assists in training and supervising laboratory personnel as needed.
• Orders and maintains adequate supplies and reagents for the laboratory.
• Plans and conducts training sessions for laboratory personnel in various laboratory techniques.
