Responsibilities

• Supervises, trains, assigns work to, and evaluates personnel in a laboratory unit.
• Performs routine and complex clinical laboratory tests and analyses.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment; performs quality control procedures.
• Participates in quality control and proficiency testing as required by regulatory agencies.
• Orders and maintains media, reagents, and other supplies.
• Maintains laboratory records and prepares reports.
• May supervise subordinate employees and take corrective action when needed.
• Assists in developing and revising laboratory policies and procedures.
