Job summary

Veolia in Tomball, Texas is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to perform tests, analyses, and provide support across the laboratory. You will work with multiple techniques, calibrate instruments, and ensure quality and safety compliance. This role requires strong data handling, documentation, and teamwork in a high-volume environment.

The position offers growth within a safety‑driven, ISO-aligned lab and exposure to state‑of‑the‑art instruments while supporting sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent in Chemistry or related field.
• 3+ years analytical laboratory experience with advanced instrumentation.
• Familiarity with safety, chemical handling and QA/QMS processes.
• Strong written and oral communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing or support per SOPs.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Manage inventory for operating materials.
• Ensure adherence to QMS and EHS requirements.
• Manage tasks to meet due dates.
• Support other laboratory areas and take on additional tasks.
• Work under direction of technical leaders.

Job Summary

The Senior Laboratory Technician performs tests, experiments, and analyses in a laboratory setting or provides support for laboratory activities. Skilled in multiple laboratory techniques or testing areas.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing or laboratory support per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Manage inventory for required operating materials
• Ensure strict adherence to all Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
• Ensure strict adherence to all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management System requirements
• Effectively manage all assigned tasks to ensure completion by established due dates
• Provide support for other laboratory areas and complete additional tasks as assigned
• Works under the direction of technical leaders

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Required

• Knowledgeable in laboratory safety, chemical handling, scientific concepts, and analytical testing equipment
• Proficiency in multiple laboratory techniques and testing areas
• Demonstrated expertise in productivity software including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Skills in implementing process improvements
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team environment
• Ability to thrive in a high-volume laboratory testing environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Preferred

• Developing skills in two or more of the following areas: spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, spectrophotometry, microscopy, electrochemistry, filtrations, extractions, gravimetry, metallography, or chromatography

Education & Experience - Required

• Associate's degree or equivalent in Chemistry or related scientific field
• 3+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques

Education & Experience - Preferred

• B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or related scientific field
• 5+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques
• Experience using a LabWare or similar LIMS
• Experience working in an ISO 9001 (or similar) certified organization
