Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician in Tomball, TX, to perform tests, analyses, and provide lab support across multiple areas. The role emphasizes precise documentation, instrument calibration, and safe operation of analytical equipment within a quality-driven environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of analytical lab experience, an associate degree in chemistry, and familiarity with LIMS/LabWare, Google Workspace, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Chemistry or related field required; 3+ years in analytical lab with modern instrumentation preferred.
• Experience working in ISO 9001 (or similar) environment preferred; strong data integrity practice.
• Proficiency with analytical techniques, safety, chemical handling, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing or laboratory support per SOPs.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Manage inventory for required operating materials.
• Ensure strict adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
• Ensure strict adherence to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
• Effectively manage all assigned tasks to ensure completion by established due dates.
• Provide support for other laboratory areas and complete additional tasks as assigned.
• Works under the direction of technical leaders.

Job Summary

The Senior Laboratory Technician performs tests, experiments, and analyses in a laboratory setting or provides support for laboratory activities. Skilled in multiple laboratory techniques or testing areas.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing or laboratory support per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Manage inventory for required operating materials
• Ensure strict adherence to all Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
• Ensure strict adherence to all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management System requirements
• Effectively manage all assigned tasks to ensure completion by established due dates
• Provide support for other laboratory areas and complete additional tasks as assigned
• Works under the direction of technical leaders

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required

• Knowledgeable in laboratory safety, chemical handling, scientific concepts, and analytical testing equipment
• Proficiency in multiple laboratory techniques and testing areas
• Demonstrated expertise in productivity software including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Skills in implementing process improvements
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team environment
• Ability to thrive in a high-volume laboratory testing environment

Preferred

• Developing skills in two or more of the following areas: spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, spectrophotometry, microscopy, electrochemistry, filtrations, extractions, gravimetry, metallography, or chromatography

Education & Experience

Required

• Associate's degree or equivalent in Chemistry or related scientific field
• 3+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques

Preferred

• B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or related scientific field
• 5+ years analytical laboratory experience using state-of-art analytical instrumentation or techniques
• Experience using a LabWare or similar LIMSExperience working in an ISO 9001 (or similar) certified organization
