Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking a Laboratory Assistant 3 to support urine microscopy, microbiology cultures, and bone marrow specimen processing. The role includes handling specimens, posting charges, reviewing bills, and assisting inventory and LIS-related tasks.

Ideal candidates will have phlebotomy and medical lab experience, with the ability to multitask and communicate effectively with clinics and patients.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required with documentation.
• Previous phlebotomy and medical lab experience is required.
• After six months, candidate should be capable of performing duties accurately.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens and ensure samples are complete for testing; prepare add-on tests.
• Assist with bone marrow procedures and sample collection.
• Perform urine microscopy and microscopy correlation with biochemical results.
• Set up cultures and maintain organism identities.
• Post patient charges and assist with billing as needed.
• Answer phones and contact patients or physician offices.
• Adhere to OSHA and Springfield Clinic training requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service and uphold clinic standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
