Job Summary

Assist with CommonSpirit Health’s Productivity, Benchmarking, and Labor Management improvement efforts through education, training, analysis, and coaching on all workforce planning initiatives. Actively work with leaders to determine labor opportunities and serve as a liaison to operationally support and link support areas such as Finance, Human Resources, Quality, and Performance Excellence. Provide operational details and data to assist department and executive leadership with the decision-making process.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide daily and bi-weekly statistics, analysis, and trending of data within productivity systems, to include variance analysis, forecasting, and other related tasks.
  2. Support department leaders in identifying Units of Service (UOS) and ensure standardized UOS across the division within productivity systems.
  3. Support department leaders with training, education, and support of productivity systems. Provide reports to ensure they are able to interpret metrics such as Overtime %, Agency %, etc.
  4. Assist department leaders in reviewing workforce planning tools, identifying potential problems, and provide guidance on action/staffing plans to improve productivity.
  5. Manage productivity system administration to include system access, system maintenance, and processing various reports.
  6. Engage benchmarking teams annually to understand defined metrics and how metrics are applied across departments. Provide quarterly reporting of benchmarking results.
  7. Assist with the annual budgeting process as it relates to facility labor needs and exception requests by communicating the target and benchmarking expectations with each department. Must ensure board approved targets match system targets.
  8. Conduct ongoing organizational assessments to provide insights on workforce risks/opportunities at all levels.
  9. Assist in the development of departmental policies and procedures; make recommendations for improvement as necessary.
  10. Stay abreast of the latest decisions from the CommonSpirit Health Productivity Collaborative Committee to inform department leaders and executives on any impact decisions may have.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree – Finance or Healthcare related field preferred.
  2. Five (5) years of relevant experience; Finance or Healthcare related field preferred.

Minimum Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

  1. Excellent skills in reading, analyzing, and interpreting labor management, benchmarking, and productivity tools in a healthcare environment.
  2. Able to generate reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals with attention to detail.
  3. Able to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries or complaints from groups of managers, clients, and customers while displaying excellent communication and listening skills.
  4. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications, especially Excel.
  5. Must be comfortable working with staff at all levels of the organization.
