Daimler Truck North America LLC seeks a Corporate Counsel – Labor & Employment to support labor strategy, contract negotiations, and CBA interpretation in North America’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer.

This role sits in the Legal Department as part of Labor, Employment & Immigration, reporting to the Associate General Counsel. You will advise HR, Labor Relations, and Operations, driving practical, risk-based guidance in a fast-paced, highly unionized environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• 8+ years of management-side labor law experience.
• In-house legal experience or significant client counseling experience.
• Experience advising on labor relations strategy in a multi-site or matrixed organization.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. labor and employment laws including NLRA and related statutes.
• Experience drafting and negotiating collective bargaining agreements and related labor documents.
• Experience handling strikes, picketing, and labor implications of corporate transactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice on labor and employment matters, focusing on unionized operations.
• Develop collective bargaining strategy and conduct contract negotiations.
• Support grievance management, arbitration strategy, and labor dispute resolution.
• Partner with HR, Labor Relations, and Operations on day-to-day labor issues.
• Develop relationships with Union Leadership and train staff on labor relations strategy.
• Counsel on investigations, discipline, leaves, accommodations, wage issues, and other workplace matters.
• Manage labor and employment litigation and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
• Monitor legal developments and update policies and practices accordingly.
