Samsung Electronics America, Inc. in Plano, TX seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to provide employment and labor law counseling and investigation support across SEA and NAHQ divisions, handling agency matters, wage and hour issues, and post-termination obligations.

The role requires a JD from a US law school with 7–10+ years, bar admission, and proven experience before state and federal agencies, with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited US law school with 7-10+ years of experience.
• Member in good standing of a US state bar and eligible to join the Texas bar or qualify as in-house counsel in Texas.
• Experience appearing before state and federal agencies on employment matters.
• Experience counseling employers on employment and labor matters.
• Demonstrated effectiveness with multiple stakeholders and diverse constituencies.
• Team player with strong collaboration across functions.
• Executive presence with sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, respond to and mediate agency matters (EEOC, state civil rights divisions, DOL).
• Handle pre-litigation claims, employee litigation, and arbitrations.
• Review and revise offer letters, agreements and incentive plans.
• Counsel HR and subsidiaries on performance, discipline and terminations.
• Counsel on wage/hour exemptions and compliance with FLSA and state/local laws.
• Counsel on accommodations, disability laws and leaves of absence.
• Counsel on benefits, pay equity and post-termination obligations.
