Job summary

Avantor is seeking a dedicated Sr. Laboratory Technician to optimize our Nusil team in Carpinteria, CA.

This full-time role involves performing laboratory tests, preparing and weighing samples, conducting assays, and following SOPs/GLPs under a scientist's direction. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and 2–5 years of related experience, with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex instructions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years related experience and/or training preferred.
• General lab experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Understanding of product formulations and basic silicone chemistry desired.
• Work with a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
• Ability to understand, communicate and follow SOPs and GLPs.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests, experiments, analyses, prepare and weigh samples for testing and analysis.
• Conduct tests, assays, and other protocols under the direction of a scientist.
• Ensure lab equipment and work areas are clean, sterile, and in proper working order (calibration of instruments possible).
• Design and execute experimental plans and calculations for basic and advanced test methods.
• Document and retain necessary documentation in Agile and communicate progress to leadership.
