Job summary

Adventist Health Glendale seeks a Multi-Site Director of Laboratory to oversee multiple labs, providing medical direction and coordinating patient services. This senior role directs staff, policy development, safety, and quality programs while monitoring financial performance.

The position requires a CLS license, a bachelor's in a related field, and substantial leadership and laboratory experience; a master's degree and ASCP/NCA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences or allied health technologies or equivalent: Required
• Master's Degree: Preferred
• Seven years' clinical laboratory experience: Preferred
• Five years' leadership experience: Preferred
• Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in state of employment: Required
• ASCP or NCA certification: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises staff and coordinates department scheduling; manages hiring and staff orientation.
• Oversees lab policies, procedures and quality control; ensures safe operations and regulatory compliance.
• Develops operating budgets and monitors expenditures; supports revenue and cost control.
• Ensures accreditation requirements (CLIA, FDA, CAP, JC, AABB, OSHA) are met across labs.
• Sets departmental goals and participates in quality improvement initiatives and cross‑functional projects.
• Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
