Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. is seeking an onsite, full-time laboratory leader to work with the Chemistry Section Director and lab leaders to ensure efficient operations, high-quality service, and regulatory compliance across the system.

Responsibilities include new assay implementation, policy review, QA, equipment maintenance, and staff training. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or related field, MLS/Chemistry ASCP certification (SC preferred), and at

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• MLS/Chemistry (C) ASCP Certification or equivalent. SC preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of experience performing chemistry testing in clinical lab.
• Experience with new equipment/assay implementation, SOPs, training/competency, QA, and lab inspections.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise chemistry operations across locations within the healthcare system.
• Develops and maintains policies, guidelines, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversees budgeting, quality control, inventory, and safety compliance in the lab.
• Performs patient and quality control testing; maintains instrument performance.
• Mentors staff, provides direction and development; supports leadership.

Education
