Job summary

Sanofi US Services in Framingham, MA, is seeking a Principal Automation Software Engineer to design, develop and deploy software for laboratory automation systems and instrument integration. You will work closely with scientists, engineers, and vendors to optimize workflows and data quality across data pipelines and instrumentation.

The role requires a strong background in full‑stack software for lab automation, REST APIs, cloud capabilities, and experience with LIMS/ELN integration.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience developing and deploying full‑stack software solutions for lab automation platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with APIs, databases, and network communications.
• Familiarity with laboratory informatics systems (LIMS/ELN/SDMS).
• Experience with REST APIs and cloud-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications for laboratory automation systems.
• Program and integrate laboratory instruments, liquid handlers, robotic workcells, and peripheral devices.
• Develop instrument control software, APIs, drivers, and workflow orchestration solutions.
• Create automated data collection, processing, and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with scientists and laboratory personnel to translate requirements into automation solutions.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and communication issues with automated equipment.
• Integrate laboratory platforms with LIMS, ELN, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and validation records.
