Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Kubernetes Service Engineer to design, deploy, and operate service mesh platforms—primarily Istio and Linkerd—across our Kubernetes estate.

The role emphasizes platform engineering, mTLS, traffic policy, and enabling application teams to reap the benefits of a mesh with pragmatic adoption strategies. This is a 100% remote, U.S.-based opportunity for candidates with 6+ years of production experience.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in platform engineering, SRE, or networking.
• Hands-on production experience with Istio or Linkerd.
• Deep understanding of Envoy proxy internals and configuration.
• Kubernetes networking, CNI, and ingress expertise.
• Strong knowledge of mTLS, PKI, and certificate lifecycle.
• Experience with distributed tracing and observability for mesh traffic.
• Proficiency in Go or Python for tooling and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate service mesh platforms using Istio/Linkerd.
• Ensure secure, observable, and reliable service-to-service communication across the Kubernetes estate.
• Collaborate with application teams to drive mesh adoption and policy with pragmatic approaches.
