Job summary

CMK Resources, Inc. seeks a Senior Container Platform Engineer to design, secure, and operate enterprise container platforms across production environments.

You will work closely with application, security, network, storage, and CI/CD teams to deliver a stable, automated platform for container workloads. The role emphasizes hands-on engineering with Kubernetes/OpenShift, developing automated solutions to improve reliability, scalability, and security of the container platforms.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with production Kubernetes, OpenShift, or comparable environments.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, TLS/PKI, and storage fundamentals.
• Hands-on with container runtimes and tooling (CRI-O, containerd, Docker/Podman, kubectl/oc).
• Experience building automation and CI/CD integrations (Git, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Experience designing and supporting highly available container platforms.
• Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and upgrade production Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters across on-prem and cloud.
• Engineer core platform capabilities like namespaces, ingress, storage, secrets, and registries.
• Build automation with Ansible, Terraform, Helm, GitOps, Python, and shell scripts to reduce manual work.
• Integrate container platforms with CI/CD, artifact repos, scanners, identity providers, and logging/monitoring tools.
• Define platform standards for availability, capacity, backup, DR, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Implement security controls including RBAC, network policies, secret management, and image governance.
• Troubleshoot complex platform, Linux, networking, storage, and deployment issues.
• Lead root-cause analyses and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
• Create reference architectures, runbooks, dashboards, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Mentor engineers and support teams during incidents and platform changes.
