Job summary

Trupanion is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer, Android, to design, build, and support mobile experiences for pets. The role is based in Seattle with a hybrid in-office/remote schedule, requiring at least 3 days on-site weekly.

You will work with cross-functional teams to own Android applications end-to-end, emphasize security, performance, and reliability, and contribute to modern Android development practices in a collaborative, pet-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, software engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of native Android development experience.
• Strong Kotlin knowledge and Android ecosystem familiarity.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Git, and secure software practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain native Android apps using Kotlin.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, and backend teams.
• Own features end-to-end from requirements to deployment and support.
• Participate in architecture reviews and security best practices.
• Maintain automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage releases in Google Play Store and monitor app health.
