Job summary

Anthropologie is seeking a Designer for Sweaters who will set the seasonal trend and direction for knitwear. The Senior Designer will supervise designers and ensure that designs meet the Anthropologie customer.

The role involves initiating line plan requirements, researching trends, developing concepts, and collaborating with PD and Technical Design. Travel to factories may be required; lead and train junior designers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of knitwear design experience.
• Expert knowledge of garment construction, knit machines, yarns, trims, washes.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and complete line plan requirements on a seasonal basis.
• Research emerging trends and inspiration for Anthropologie products.
• Contribute to concept direction and development.
• Supervise Assistant/Associate Designers and delegate tasks.
• Source and develop materials with PD within pricing guidelines.
• Communicate style details to PD and set up specifications with Technical Design.
• Collaborate with PD on status of styles in development daily.
• Attend weekly fittings and design meetings.
• Travel to factories for development and program execution.
• Develop, train, and lead junior designers.
