Job summary

STAUD Clothing, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Senior Designer, Knitwear to lead seasonal knit collections and translate creative concepts into silhouettes, stitches, and CADs. You’ll partner closely with mills, Product Development, and Technical Design to bring the knitwear line from concept to production.

The role requires 5-7+ years of knitwear design experience and advanced Illustrator/Photoshop skills, with leadership capabilities to mentor juniors and drive cross-functional

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of professional knitwear design experience; ownership of a category or product line.
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field preferred.
• Deep knowledge of knit construction, gauge, stitch development, yarn types, and garment shaping.
• Advanced proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop; strong PowerPoint and Excel.
• Experience building knit tech packs and coordinating with overseas mills and vendors.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills; able to drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop seasonal knitwear collections balancing creative vision with commercial viability under senior design direction.
• Sketch and CAD original silhouettes, stitches, and colorways; translate direction into knit concepts each season.
• Lead knitwear trend research and yarn development to drive concept innovation.
• Create and maintain knit tech packs, gauges, yarn compositions, and trim details for production handoff.
• Lead knitwear fittings from prototype to bulk approval with clear feedback.
• Collaborate with mills, Product Development, and Technical Design to ensure design intent and quality.
