Job summary

DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior Product Security Engineer who is passionate about partnering with engineers to assess and mitigate the security risk of our virtualization stack. You will own the security risk posture and build frameworks for communicating risks effectively.

This role requires deep technical expertise in systems architecture and kernel security features. You will collaborate with development teams to implement defense strategies and mentor engineers in security best practices.

Qualifications

• Deep familiarity with at least one kernel security feature (e.g., AppArmor, SELinux).
• Capable of assessing performance implications of code changes to virtualization stacks.
• Ability to clearly communicate security topics and vulnerability classes.

Responsibilities

• Propose and implement mitigations to threats discovered through threat modeling.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement remediations.
• Cultivate and promote a security culture and mentor software engineering teams.
