Job summary

Guaranteed Rate, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Underwriter for Jumbo and Non-QM loan products in a fast‑paced mortgage environment. The role requires deep knowledge of FHA/VA, conventional, and USD/RD guidelines, with authority to manage exceptions and collaborate with loan originators.

You will underwrite residential loans, examine documents for accuracy, and respond to audits while adhering to investor standards. A strong track record of 5+ years in Non‑QM underwriting is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Non‑QM underwriting experience.
• Minimum 5 years of FHA/VA, conventional, and USD/RD underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting according to multiple lender guidelines.
• In‑depth knowledge of Non‑QM underwriting requirements, including full documentation, DSCR, bank statement loans, and other alternative loan products.
• Strong ability to critically examine credit, income, and asset documents, and review title policies and appraisals.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite residential loans ensuring compliance with company and investor standards.
• Examine loan documentation for accuracy and completeness while collaborating with loan originators or production staff to secure all required documents.
• Work on various mortgage lending types, including conventional, government‑backed, and other products.
• Collaborate with senior underwriters on loan exceptions and exercise authority to withdraw or decline loans when necessary.
• Respond directly to individual and investor audits.
• Operate at all levels of underwriting authority and exception levels.
