Job summary

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is seeking a seasoned Web Developer to design, code, test, and implement web applications that deliver critical business value. You will work with Java, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and modern cloud integrations while leveraging Claude AI tools to improve productivity and code quality.

The role requires strong analytical and collaborative skills to partner with business users and IT peers, ensuring scalable, secure software aligned with company standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience developing Java-based applications.
• Proficiency in core Java development and Java EE components.
• Hands-on experience developing Java web applications using Spring MVC and Spring Boot.
• Experience using Claude or similar AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software development.
• Experience with developing REST API
• Experience with data formats such as XML, JSON
• Advanced experience in writing SQL queries on MySQL, DB2 and Snowflake
• Experience in cloud integrations
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement software components and enhancements in accordance with approved project plans and ensuring high-quality, reliable code.
• Integrate with internal and external systems, APIs, or web services.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle for new features and system enhancements.
• Apply Claude and similar AI-assisted development tools as part of the development workflow to explore solution approaches, validate logic, and strengthen code decisions while ensuring all final work is reviewed, secure, and aligned with company standards
• Conduct system and functional testing to ensure quality and performance.
• Collaborate with business users, project managers, and QA teams to validate solutions.
• Completes any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.
