Cognizant in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Java Technical Lead to guide design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise applications for a major financial services client. You will work with architects, product owners, and engineering teams to modernize cloud-native platforms using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka, and AWS.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience with Java 17/21.
• Deep experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, RESTful APIs, and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and delivery of enterprise-grade Java applications.
• Guide development teams through the full software development lifecycle.
• Design and build RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and related frameworks.
• Implement event-driven patterns using Apache Kafka and reliable messaging practices.
• Collaborate with DevOps to deploy on AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, IAM, CloudWatch).
• Provide delivery updates and mentor teams to improve quality and reliability.
• Support performance optimization, observability, and production readiness.
