Job summary

Search Leaders, LLC in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and maintain Java-based software for capital medical equipment. You will work on real-time navigation, device control, and clinical workflows, ensuring compliance with IEC 62304 and FDA Class II/III standards.

You will collaborate across engineering, clinical, regulatory, quality, and manufacturing teams, drive automated testing, and contribute to V&V.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Five+ years of software development experience in medical devices.
• Strong Java development experience building commercial/medical device applications.
• Experience with FDA regulated environments: Design Controls, IEC 62304, software traceability, lifecycle documentation.
• Experience developing automated tests (unit/integration) and supporting V&V.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based application software for capital medical equipment.
• Develop real-time navigation, device control, and clinical workflow software.
• Collaborate with engineering, clinical, regulatory, quality, and manufacturing teams to define requirements.
• Ensure software adheres to IEC 62304 and FDA Class II/III standards.
• Create and execute automated, unit, and integration tests; support V&V activities.
• Support product lifecycle activities including design transfer and manufacturing integration.
• Analyze feedback and defect trends to improve performance and reliability.
• Maintain software requirements, architecture, design specs, traceability, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management System and Design Control processes.
• Partner with operations and marketing to improve manufacturability and customer-focused enhancements.
• Mentor engineers on development best practices and testing.
