Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field.
• 5+ years of software engineering with strong Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
• Experience building backend services and REST APIs in production.
• Ability to design and reason about complex conditional/business logic.
• Knowledge of event-driven integration and Kafka producer/consumer patterns.
• Experience on cloud infra (Azure or equivalent) with containers/Kubernetes and CI/CD.
• Strong testing discipline and attention to correctness.
• Clear communicator across engineering, product, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Rules engine development — design, build, and maintain Java/Drools rules for eligibility, suppression, frequency, and consent.
• Backend services — own Java/Spring services and REST APIs exposing the rules engine.
• Event integration — produce and consume Kafka events connecting rules engine to signals and decisions.
• Correctness and testing — write thorough tests; ensure rule correctness as a core concern.
• Performance — keep rule evaluation fast as rules and traffic grow.
• Quality — participate in code reviews and ship production-ready code in a PHI-handling environment.
• Collaboration — partner with Product and compliance to translate requirements into rules.
