Job summary

Apptium is hiring a Senior Software Developer for our Reston, VA office. You will lead development of Java/J2EE applications, focusing on backend services, REST/SOAP and microservices, with exposure to cloud and AI-enabled workflows.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong debugging skills, and experience in telecom/cable environments. You'll work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven context with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years of development experience with Java technologies (Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, ORM, JDBC).
• Experience in Go, NodeJS, and Python.
• Development and deployment of Web Services (REST/SOAP), microservices, API gateways, and Docker services.
• Strong SQL and NoSQL database knowledge.
• Experience with logging/monitoring tools (ELK, Splunk, Prometheus).
• Frontend exposure with HTML5/CSS/TS/JS (Angular/React a plus).
• Code quality and security tools (SonarQube, Snyk).
• Experience with caching and queuing systems (Redis, MQ, Kafka).
• Cloud familiarity (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Identity management/SAML/OAuth/OIDC; CI/CD pipelines (Github/Bitbucket/Gitlab/Jenkins).
• Familiar with AI pair-programming and ML/AI platforms.
