Responsibilities

• Lead development, maintenance, enhancements, assignments, design/code reviews, and developer mentoring; provide hands-on troubleshooting and enforce reusable engineering patterns, coding, security, accessibility, and organizational standards.
• Integrate web frontends, Java services/APIs, databases, portals, workflow, business rules, middleware, and third-party systems; support legacy-to-modern migration and platform compatibility.
• Develop/review complex SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and production data-correction scripts; resolve performance and data-quality issues; promote unit testing and support integration, regression, and UAT.
• Lead critical/emergency production support and root cause analysis; implement sustainable fixes and support deployments, releases, migrations, patches, platform upgrades, and infrastructure changes with minimal production impact.

Job description

• 15+ years software/application development;
• 10+ years hands-on Java/J2EE; extensive large-scale Technical Lead, Java Lead, Solution Architect, or Java/Application Architect experience.
• 15+ years in object-oriented design/UML/J2EE/Web Services/XML/PL/SQL; Spring/Hibernate/open-source Java frameworks; WebSphere Application Server; Oracle/SQL/PL/SQL; and RSA/RAD/Eclipse or equivalent Java tools.
• 10+ years client-facing English written/verbal communication; production support/root cause analysis; and leading developers, code reviews, and technical design.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with one or more: Vue.js, AEM Portal, Corticon Business Rules, BPM/workflow platforms, IBM DataStage, LDAP, JSR 168/portlets, WebSphere Process Server, RSA/RAD, Visual Studio/Visual Studio Code, Team Foundation Server/Azure DevOps, application/platform modernization, and legacy-to-modern migration.
• Translate business requirements into architecture, UML/component designs, integration patterns, data-access approaches, technical specifications, and maintainable implementation plans across application, database, middleware, and infrastructure layers.
• Lead development, maintenance, enhancements, assignments, design/code reviews, and developer mentoring; provide hands-on troubleshooting and enforce reusable engineering patterns, coding, security, accessibility, and organizational standards.
• Integrate web frontends, Java services/APIs, databases, portals, workflow, business rules, middleware, and third-party systems; support legacy-to-modern migration and platform compatibility.
• Develop/review complex SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and controlled, documented, tested production data-correction scripts; resolve performance and data-quality issues. Promote unit testing; support component/system integration, regression, and UAT; diagnose cross-layer defects and improve quality, stability, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Lead critical/emergency production support and root cause analysis; implement sustainable fixes and support deployments, releases, migrations, patches, platform upgrades, and infrastructure changes with minimal production impact.
• Maintain architecture, design, development, deployment, and system documentation; assess change/enhancement risks and dependencies. Collaborate with business, BA, QA, architecture, development, infrastructure, database, middleware, operations, and client leadership; communicate alternatives and recommendations to technical/nontechnical audiences.
