Job summary

Northern Base is seeking a Java/Kafka Developer to join its Phoenix team for onsite, full-time work. You will design and build scalable APIs and event-driven integrations, contributing to resilient microservices and platform modernization.

The role requires 8–15 years of experience in Java development, Spring Boot, Kafka, and cloud-native tooling such as OpenShift/Kubernetes. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and adherence to best practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8–15 years of professional Java development experience.
• Experience designing and delivering API and event-driven integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain applications and services.
• Build and support API and event-driven integrations.
• Develop scalable and resilient microservices.
• Support deployments and production releases; troubleshoot issues.
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews.
• Implement security, performance and reliability best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, QE, Infrastructure and Architecture teams.
• Support platform modernization and automation initiatives.
