Job summary

Tech Mirrors in Springfield, MO is seeking an API Developer with 8+ years of backend experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and Google Cloud Platform. You'll design and build scalable backend services and cloud-based APIs deployed in production.

Responsibilities include building RESTful APIs, implementing CI/CD, managing deployments on GCP, optimizing performance, and ensuring security. Local candidates only; H1B won’t be eligible.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Run, GKE, and Pub/Sub.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native application development.
• Experience with CI/CD and deployment automation.
• Proficiency with MySQL/PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, data structures, and system design.
• Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, and API security.
• Experience with Kafka and/or Pub/Sub.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and manage microservices-based architectures with high availability and fault tolerance.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs with frontend applications and third-party services.
• Design and optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and security.
• Deploy, monitor, and manage applications on GCP.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate cloud deployments.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Optimize database interactions and data processing.
• Implement caching, logging, and monitoring solutions.
• Follow coding best practices, participate in code reviews, and develop automated tests.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system reliability.
