Senior Java FSD Dev w/AWS (Remote) Digital Engineering Practice:

At Cognizant Digital Engineering, a small multi-functional team comprised of a Product Manager, an Architect, Full-Stack Developers, UI/UX designers and Big Data analysts builds higher quality software faster siloed individuals working independently. Across our US Studio system or within client development sites, our Digital Engineering teams ideate and develop innovative cloud-based solutions following a Lean-Agile process with DevOps culture. The Role:

Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Senior Java FSD Dev w/AWS to serve our diverse base of global clients. Location: Riverwoods - IL (Remote) Work Authorization

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure APIs using Java and Spring framework.
• Build responsive and dynamic user interfaces using React.js.
• Implement microservices-based architecture and design patterns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Integrate with messaging systems like Kafka for real-time data processing.
• Utilize containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment.
• Work with relational databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments, preferably AWS.

Qualifications:

• 8 - 12 years of experience
• Strong fundamentals in Java, API-first design, and React.js.
• Solid understanding of modern architecture and design patterns, especially Microservices.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Framework, Kafka, Containerization (e.g., Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in working with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar relational databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

The annual salary for this position is between $81,337- $141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
