Job summary

Probity is seeking a senior Java developer with Top Secret/SCI Clearance for Dulles/McLean. You will design and implement secure back-end services using Java 17+, manage LDAP-based auth, PKI/TLS, and oversee API security. The role requires Linux expertise, Tomcat/HTTPD configuration, and experience with JDBC/DAO and database tools.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, craft clean, well-documented code, and continuously pursue improvements while staying current with industry advances.

Qualifications

• Extensive LDAP auth/authorization experience.
• SSH-based tools on Linux; strong Linux CLI skills.
• Java REST API development with security and scalability.
• Experience with JDBC/DAO, MariaDB/MySQL, and connection pooling without a framework.
• Tomcat deployment, connectors, and HTTPD configuration.
• Jakarta Servlet API usage and lifecycle handling.
• Cryptography basics and usage in Java (JCA).
• PKI concepts, X.509, OpenSSL, and certificate management.
• Quartz scheduling for batch jobs.
• Source control with Git/GitHub.
• Secure PKI integration across services.
• Strong problem solving, communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to translate user needs into technical requirements.
• Commitment to clean, well-documented code and continuous improvement.
• Keep up with industry tech updates.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java back-end services (Java17+).
• Secure REST APIs and certificate-based authentication/authorization.
• Work with LDAP and PKI to ensure secure data transmission.
• Integrate with Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, and related tooling.
• Implement and maintain database access via JDBC/DAO.
• Create reliable, scalable services with proper session handling.
• Utilize OpenSSL for key management and TLS configurations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
