Job summary

Purple Hires Inc. is seeking a mid-to-senior Java Software Engineer (Software Engineer 3) to join a growing enterprise software team in Irving, TX.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services in a Scrum/Agile environment, collaborating with global teams. The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of commercial Java experience, strong Spring/Spring Boot skills, and a track record building RESTful APIs and distributed microservices.

Qualifications

5-7 years of relevant commercial software development experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
Strong commercial experience with Java.
Experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
Experience developing RESTful APIs and event-driven systems.
Strong knowledge of microservices and distributed architectures.
Experience with build, test, and dependency management tools.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services.
Build clean, secure, reliable, and maintainable software.
Develop automated tests and participate in code reviews.
Work with Scrum teams from requirements and estimation through implementation, testing, and release.
Contribute to solution design for complex technical problems.
Create technical documentation for implementation and support.
Help improve software quality, performance, reliability, and development practices.
Participate in delivery planning, estimation, sequencing, and risk management.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and QA teams to refine requirements and provide progress updates.
Troubleshoot production and non-production issues.
Perform root-cause analysis and implement preventative fixes.
Work with globally distributed software teams across the US and Australia.
