Job summary

Decca Consulting seeks an experienced Java Developer Contractor to design, develop, and maintain web applications and backend services in a cloud-native environment. You will work across Java/Spring, build REST APIs, and integrate with AWS services while following modern CI/CD workflows.

The role emphasizes hands-on, independent work with collaboration across technical and business stakeholders, leveraging AWS, GitLab pipelines, and Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience with Java development.
• Proficient in Java 21 or newer.
• Solid Spring Boot and Spring Framework experience.
• Experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications using Java SDK 21.
• Build and enhance applications with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and JSON integrations.
• Support web applications with Thymeleaf, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Work with AWS infrastructure, including ECS, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
• Contribute to GitLab-based source control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain and troubleshoot GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate on architecture decisions, code reviews, and deployment practices.
• Support infrastructure-as-code efforts with Terraform.
• Use IntelliJ IDEA as the primary development environment.
• Apply solid software engineering practices and consider security.
