Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a Java desktop developer to work on a mature code base in the medical imaging space. You’ll maintain features, write automated tests, and help improve cybersecurity and custom frameworks.

Collaboration with user-facing staff will ensure input requirements are well defined, and you’ll have opportunities for growth and learning within a hybrid work setup. The role requires a CS/CE degree or equivalent Java experience, strong OO skills, and excellent problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or related field with notable CS coursework.
• Two years of industry experience in Java or five years in lieu of degree.
• Knowledge of OO principles and data structures.
• General problem-solving and strong analytical thinking.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, improve, and add features to a large Java desktop code base.
• Develop automated tests and participate in peer code reviews.
• Mitigate and document cybersecurity risks.
• Enhance custom frameworks and learn the medical domain as needed.
• Investigate end-user bug reports and provide software solutions.
• Collaborate with user-facing staff to define input requirements.
• Coordinate with the team to overcome roadblocks and grow professionally.
