Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a talented Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex Java software for enterprise systems. You will collaborate with a small, agile team to deliver secure, scalable solutions and stay current with the latest tools and AI-enabled workflows.

The role requires a Secret clearance, 5+ years of Java experience, and a hybrid work arrangement with on-site presence in Fort Meade, MD and Columbia, MD. Strong API and microservices background preferred.

Qualifications

Active Secret level U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
Minimum 5 years in Software Engineering with Modern Java Frameworks (e.g., Spring, Guava) and a related bachelor’s degree; or 3 years with a master’s; or 9 years with a high school diploma.
Experience designing enterprise APIs and RESTful web services; Microservices architecture.
Proficient in OOP, agile software lifecycle, and configuration management tools (Git, Nexus, Maven).
Linux command line proficiency; ability to learn quickly and work independently or in a team.
Hybrid work: on-site at Fort Meade, MD (1 day/week) and Columbia, MD (1 day/week), with flexibility per mission needs.

Responsibilities
