Staffing Spot, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Senior Java Software Engineer for a 12-month contract to design, build, and deploy scalable enterprise applications. The role emphasizes Java, Spring Boot, React 18, and REST APIs within a modern architecture framework.

You will contribute to a greenfield platform, work with SQL Server databases, and engage in architecture, design, coding, testing, and production support using AI-assisted tools where appropriate.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of hands-on Java enterprise development.
• Strong experience with React, preferably React 18.
• Strong JavaScript development skills.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of OOP, software engineering principles, and application architecture.
• Experience with SQL Server / relational databases.
• Strong testing, debugging, deployment, and production support experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with aggressive delivery timelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React 18.
• Build modern front-end applications using React and JavaScript.
• Develop robust backend services, microservices, and REST APIs.
• Contribute to a greenfield platform consolidating multiple existing applications.
• Work with SQL Server and relational databases.
• Participate in architecture, technical design, coding, testing, and production implementation.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, product teams, and business stakeholders.
• Follow secure software development practices and enterprise security standards.
• Troubleshoot application performance and production issues.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards for scalability, quality, and maintainability.
• Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot where appropriate.
