Job summary

Surge Technology Solutions Inc. seeks a Java Developer with Drools BRMS to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications. You will build RESTful services, implement business rules, and optimize rule engine performance within cloud-enabled environments.

The role requires 7+ years of Java development, strong Spring Boot/MVC experience, and hands-on Drools rule management. Collaboration with analysts and involvement in CI/CD pipelines are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 4+ years Java development with Spring Boot/MVC.
• 5+ years Drools BRMS with DRL, KIE bases/sessions.
• Experience designing REST APIs, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and backend services focusing on performance, security, and maintainability.
• Design and implement business rules using Drools BRMS, DRL files, KIE Base/sessions, and decision tables.
• Decide stateless vs. stateful KIE sessions based on requirements and architecture.
• Develop and optimize rule engine flows, manage memory, and improve rule execution performance.
• Collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into executable rules.
• Ensure modular, reusable rule logic with proper testing and documentation.
• Integrate Drools with Java applications, databases, REST APIs, and enterprise systems.
• Develop and run unit/integration tests with JUnit; participate in reviews.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven, or Gradle.
• Deploy and maintain apps on AWS/Azure/GCP; provide production support.
