Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join the AVOD team on a fully remote six-month contract with strong extension potential. The role focuses on understanding the existing platform, supporting and modernizing services, and delivering reusable components for future reuse and modernization.

Ideal candidates have senior Java experience, hands-on agentic development with AI agents, and the ability to articulate a repeatable workflow from task to code.

Our client seeks a Senior Java Engineer to join the AVOD team supporting a high-priority platform initiative. The environment consists of mature Java systems. You will understand the existing platform, support and enhance current services, and develop new services and features with a focus on future reuse and modernization. The team also drives personalization efforts, and experience in this area would be helpful though not required. This is a fully remote, six-month contract with strong extension potential. Pacific Time overlap is preferred. Hands-on agentic development is a hard requirement.

• Ability to explain a repeatable agentic workflow from task definition through code generation, review, testing, and integration.
• Enthusiasm for AI-enabled engineering and readiness to work within a mandated agentic model.
• Preferred: AVOD workflow or platform experience, advertising-based streaming or video-platform background, personalization or recommendation systems, modernization of mature Java systems, and building reusable services or platform components.
