Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Java Developer (C12) based in Pune, India, with strong Java, Spring, and Kafka expertise. The role focuses on margin-related systems within capital markets, delivering robust applications and collaborating across teams to ensure scalable, compliant solutions.

You will work on modernizing platforms using microservices, REST, gRPC, and containerized deployments, while aligning with risk and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Java experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring, Kafka, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Oracle and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
• Cloud/container experience with Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• API-first approach with REST, WebSocket and gRPC.
• Exposure to microservices architecture and design patterns.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in programming and ensure adherence to architecture blueprint.
• Develop coding standards, testing, debugging, and implementation processes.
• Understand how business areas like architecture and infra integrate to meet goals.
• Guide team to standardize design and improve development workflow.
• Own smooth production releases planning and execution.
• Analyze operations to identify risks and redundancies.
• Conduct assessments to develop solutions and improvements.
• Coordinate with team to complete projects per governance standards.
• Stay updated with industry trends and developments.
• Escalate and manage control issues with transparency and compliance.
