Job Title: Senior Java Developer

Location: Cincinnati, OH - Onsite

Payrate: $65/hr on W2

Responsibilities

• Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java/Vue code.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
• Write reusable Java libraries.
• Implement automated testing platforms and unit tests (TDD).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.
• 5–7 years’ experience in a team environment.
• Proficient in Java, with good knowledge of insurance a plus.
• Experience with paired programming.
• JavaScript.
• Proficient with Vue.
• Familiar with various design and architectural patterns.
• Knowledge of concurrency patterns in Java.
• Familiarity with concepts of MVC, JDBC, and RESTful.
• Experience with both external and embedded databases.
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
• Basic understanding of the class loading mechanism in Java.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, and Gradle.
• Familiarity with CI/CD.
• Experience with Mockito is a plus.
